Objectives

• Reduce direct and indirect threats to the riverine ecosystem and biodiversity of the NCS through zonation, active protection, management and administrative restructuring.

• Establish and implement the conservation and management plan through site-level, tri-state and national coordination and cooperation.

• Declaring the NCS as a World Heritage Site.

• Keeping in mind the ecological integrity of the system, develop and promote supplementary livelihood opportunities for local communities and income generating activities.

• Develop NCS as a centre for conservation education, research and ecotourism.
